GUIDELINES = Don't cross the IC/OCC line. Don't do it! We will not become a community that implodes because of drama. If you're having problems with a player then you need to come to us. As mods, we will be fair and evaluate the situation. If it's an accidental crossing or we feel that you're sorry and won't be a problem in the future, then you'll be warned---no hard feelings. If it's a blatant attempt to start drama and/or you're being difficult or if it's a second or third offense then you'll be kicked out and we will find an appropriate way to explain why your character is no longer there.
= Activity is important. It's what keeps a game going, after all. So we're expecting our players to be active. So what does that mean? An IC journal update at least once every two weeks. If you haven't updated within a two week period, you'll be nudged/warned and you'll have three days to update or face removals. You'll also be expected to play and participate in scenes. Now, we don't care where you play out those scenes---email, aim, or in our threading community, which is there for your convenience. But you will be required to post a finished scene in the threading community once a month so that we can keep track of your involvement and also, because this is a community, and many players like to read and keep up with what's going on with everyone. Again, if you haven't posted a completed scene within a month, you will be notified and given three days to do so or face removals. And, if you're copying and pasting a scene that was done in AIM, please get rid of the ooc matter like screennames and timestamps. Also, we are requiring IC AIM screennames. This is to promote interaction, but don't hesitate to use journals as well!
= If you need to take a hiatus, please let us know in advance [by leaving us a comment in the dropbox] so that your character will not be in danger of removals during activity checks. Additionally, we would like you to let us know of any change of AIM or UN, although we'd prefer that this is kept to a minimum as constant changes can get confusing.
= There is no character limit, but please do not choose to play more than one character from a particular group/clique. We also ask that you know your own limits and don't apply for more characters than you can handle and keep active.
= Journal names can be in either IC or OOC format. Aim screennames should have your character's name in it somehow, to cut down on confusion.
= We'll have adult themes [you know----sex, drugs, rock n roll] so expect that. Also, with that being said, please respect other players and put all scenes of that nature under a cut and have the rating clearly stated in the thread's heading. If you're under 17, then please refrain from participating in such threads. Also, while we do allow adult content, please try to keep it realistic to some degree. A typical high schooler is not going to have a life or death addiction to heroin. And not every girl is going to become pregnant. We ask that certain storylines like pregnancy, domestic abuse, drug addictions, eating disorders and things be cleared with the mods [unless it's clearly stated in their premade]. We will most likely say yes, we just want a heads up. We do have the right to veto or cap any storyline that goes against the rules and our better judgment. And for the sake of keeping this a generally non offensive and easy going environment, we are not allowing rape, incest or particularly violent storylines. Getting into physical fights at school is fine; bringing a gun to school is not.
= PBs should be age appropriate. A few tattoos may be acceptable on a PB. But a PB that is covered in tattoos and piercings will not be accepted. Please try to keep the look of your PB appropriate with the clique they belong too. Though there are always exceptions, they're stereotyped for a reason. Also, you can not use your PBS name in any part of your character's name. We know you're more creative than that!
= Also, while we're definitely slash friendly, keep in mind that not everyone is gay or has bisexual tendencies and we will cap homosexual characters if we have to.
= Please put any large photos or embedded objects under a cut.
= Anything that has a strikethrough across it, should be considered something that the character wrote and then deleted. No one can read it. It's not a private message.
= Threads should be started with the common heading and the body should be under a cut. Here is an example of the heading you should use: = And lastly, in case you didn't get the memo, godmodding is so last weekend. |
