MALE PREMADES & FEMALE PREMADES

The concept of Lake City High is simple. It's a public, yes public, high school located in Lake City, a fictional town in northeast Ohio. Lake City's mascot is the lion. Your school colors are green and gold. And without making a long extensive list, the school offers all the expected classes, clubs and sports. For reference, we'll say that Lake City is about 20 minutes from Cleveland and it will have the same weather patterns. It's a decent sized suburb and you can expect things like major restaurant chains, hotels, shopping centers, a movie theater as well as other entertainment venues and a decent sized mall. Students will live off campus, with their parents or their guardians.

Like every high school, Lake City High has their cliques. And we've incorporated these stereotypical groups into sorting out the premades. Now, we realize that not every group is covered nor every possible premade but we feel a good variety is offered to start us out. If in the future we need/want more than we have a few in reserve that can be added. With the cliques, there are just a few things we'd like you to keep in mind. It's expected that characters will be closer with the other members of their cliques. In fact, we encourage that to a certain degree. It's realistic and it'll help each character find their niche in the community. But we also encourage you to play off the premades which will help you branch out. And of course, as people meet and interact, there will be more opportunity to play with others outside of your character's clique. Just have fun with it!

GUIDELINES
= Don't cross the IC/OCC line. Don't do it! We will not become a community that implodes because of drama. If you're having problems with a player then you need to come to us. As mods, we will be fair and evaluate the situation. If it's an accidental crossing or we feel that you're sorry and won't be a problem in the future, then you'll be warned---no hard feelings. If it's a blatant attempt to start drama and/or you're being difficult or if it's a second or third offense then you'll be kicked out and we will find an appropriate way to explain why your character is no longer there.

= Activity is important. It's what keeps a game going, after all. So we're expecting our players to be active. So what does that mean? An IC journal update at least once every two weeks. If you haven't updated within a two week period, you'll be nudged/warned and you'll have three days to update or face removals. You'll also be expected to play and participate in scenes. Now, we don't care where you play out those scenes---email, aim, or in our threading community, which is there for your convenience. But you will be required to post a finished scene in the threading community once a month so that we can keep track of your involvement and also, because this is a community, and many players like to read and keep up with what's going on with everyone. Again, if you haven't posted a completed scene within a month, you will be notified and given three days to do so or face removals. And, if you're copying and pasting a scene that was done in AIM, please get rid of the ooc matter like screennames and timestamps. Also, we are requiring IC AIM screennames. This is to promote interaction, but don't hesitate to use journals as well!

= If you need to take a hiatus, please let us know in advance [by leaving us a comment in the dropbox] so that your character will not be in danger of removals during activity checks. Additionally, we would like you to let us know of any change of AIM or UN, although we'd prefer that this is kept to a minimum as constant changes can get confusing.

= There is no character limit, but please do not choose to play more than one character from a particular group/clique. We also ask that you know your own limits and don't apply for more characters than you can handle and keep active.

= Journal names can be in either IC or OOC format. Aim screennames should have your character's name in it somehow, to cut down on confusion.

= We'll have adult themes [you know----sex, drugs, rock n roll] so expect that. Also, with that being said, please respect other players and put all scenes of that nature under a cut and have the rating clearly stated in the thread's heading. If you're under 17, then please refrain from participating in such threads. Also, while we do allow adult content, please try to keep it realistic to some degree. A typical high schooler is not going to have a life or death addiction to heroin. And not every girl is going to become pregnant. We ask that certain storylines like pregnancy, domestic abuse, drug addictions, eating disorders and things be cleared with the mods [unless it's clearly stated in their premade]. We will most likely say yes, we just want a heads up. We do have the right to veto or cap any storyline that goes against the rules and our better judgment. And for the sake of keeping this a generally non offensive and easy going environment, we are not allowing rape, incest or particularly violent storylines. Getting into physical fights at school is fine; bringing a gun to school is not.

= PBs should be age appropriate. A few tattoos may be acceptable on a PB. But a PB that is covered in tattoos and piercings will not be accepted. Please try to keep the look of your PB appropriate with the clique they belong too. Though there are always exceptions, they're stereotyped for a reason. Also, you can not use your PBS name in any part of your character's name. We know you're more creative than that!

= Also, while we're definitely slash friendly, keep in mind that not everyone is gay or has bisexual tendencies and we will cap homosexual characters if we have to.

= Please put any large photos or embedded objects under a cut.

= Anything that has a strikethrough across it, should be considered something that the character wrote and then deleted. No one can read it. It's not a private message.

= Threads should be started with the common heading and the body should be under a cut. Here is an example of the heading you should use:

= And lastly, in case you didn't get the memo, godmodding is so last weekend.

WHAT WE'RE ABOUT
Lake City High was made with the mindset that less is more. Remember the days when you were given a backdrop and you didn't need all the extras? Where your experience was based on plot and not how pretty the mod journal was? When, if you wanted your character to have 3rd period history, you didn't have to fill out a schedule or check the class roster for availability? And if you wanted them to be on the basketball team it was just as simple? Remember when communities flourished and actually lasted because we played with each other and plotted and let storylines happen organically? All those things are what Lake City High strives for. We want a fun, friendly rp, that's easy to jump into and will last because it's entertaining and because our players and characters drive it and push it forward.

What you won't see here is countless entries with too much information on classes and floorplans and schedules to fill out. You won't have to remember dorm assignments or who's in what clubs. But that doesn't mean that we'll be disorganized. As mods, we're giving you premades to create connections and histories with each other and to get you started on plot, but from there you're free to let your character grow and develop. We'll keep you posted on important events coming up and let you know when to look forward to some school wide gossip. We want to see interesting dynamics, in game drama, and well developed characters. But we also understand that a long winded application or biography isn't always necessary. That's why our application is just as straight to the point as the rest of the community. Here, we want to focus on playing and building a community that people want to be apart of. Now all we need is you!
